SOCIAL CARE WORKERS (SEPARATED CHILDREN SEEKING INTERNATIONAL
PROTECTION)

CPL HEALTHCARE is excited to announce our partnership with a client
dedicated to providing high-quality care to young people, helping them
build resilience and recover from early life trauma. Together, we
strive to support these young individuals in reaching their full
potential and creating a brighter future.

We are currently seeking SOCIAL CARE WORKERS to join a new residential
service focused on assisting displaced young people who have been
separated from their families and places of origin.

Many of these children have faced high levels of vulnerability and
significant trauma. They encounter numerous challenges, including
separation and bereavement from family and friends, social isolation,
language barriers, emotional and mental health issues, discrimination,
and racism. Therefore, we are looking for compassionate Social Care
Professionals committed to supporting young people in need of
international protection and separated from their parents or legal
guardians.

AVAILABLE LOCATIONS: Laois and Carlow

CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time, permanent

WORK SCHEDULE: 2 x *-hour shifts and 3 x
*-hour shifts once a month

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* ASSESSMENT AND PLANNING: Contribute to the development and
implementation of assessment and behaviour management plans for
children and young people referred to the house. This includes
creating Behaviour Support Plans (BSP), Individual Crisis Management
Plans (ICMP), and Placement Plans in line with Care Plans.
* EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT: Teach young people who are not engaged in
school, both one-on-one and in groups, following individualised
educational plans. Assist those attending school with homework,
assignments, and other school requirements.
* RESIDENTIAL CARE: Participate in planned and responsive
residential care designed to meet the assessed needs of each young
person as outlined in their Care and Placement Plans. Provide care
following the BSP, Daily Plans, and ICMP developed for each young
person.
* DOCUMENTATION AND COMMUNICATION: Document the progress of young
people using the systems developed by the client. Liaise with
supervisors, consultants, professionals, parents/carers, and referral
agents as required.
* QUALITY ASSURANCE: Ensure that each young person, and their
parents/carers if appropriate, receive the agreed quality and quantity
of inputs. Assist in conducting consumer evaluations of the house and
handle complaints and compliments regarding the services from
children, young people, parents/carers, communities, and referral
agents.
* TRAINING AND POLICY IMPLEMENTATION: Attend mandatory company
training sessions and other training as defined by your individual
training plan. Implement and contribute to the amendment of policies
and procedures set out by the client.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Interested applicants must meet the following criteria:

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

A minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a relevant/related
field. Relevant alternative qualifications include:

* Psychology (Level 8)
* Level 7 in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy
* Counselling/Psychotherapy
* Addiction Counselling
* Youth and Community Work
* Social Sciences/Social Studies
* Family Support
* Disability Studies
* Applied Behavioural Analysis
* BA in Applied Policing
* Higher Certificate in Custodial Care
* Teaching and Nursing

DRIVING LICENSE: A full, clean, manual driving license valid in
Ireland.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Knowledge of effective team working principles
* Familiarity with the Irish National Standards for Children’s
Residential Centers
* Experience working with teenagers with challenging behavior
